Lessons On Necklace Layering

At Muru, we are huge fans of layering our Talisman necklaces. With a range of different chain lengths and perfect pendants we thought it’s time to give you our insider tips on necklace layering.

  1. Length

To get started, we would go for an 18″ chain. This is our standard size chain because its the perfect length for every day wear, alternatively if you want the layer to start a little shorter we offer a 16-18″ extender chain on some of our pieces. Go for a subtle small pendant for your shortest chain – we love using the Arc Necklace or the horizontal Feather necklace for this step.

Next is to choose your midi and longer length pendants – we like to go with a simple but unique piece for the midi chain then a statement piece for the longest chain. Here’s a useful chain length guide:

2. Meaning

Our favourite thing about the Talisman jewellery range is that each piece has a significant meaning to inspire and empower the wearer, making them perfect for a unique and thought provoking look.

All of our Talisman collections are available to view here so you can pick out the charms that inspire you most. Whether you want to put together positivity and power charms, or luck and ambition we’ve got all bases covered!

3. Colour

When it comes to colours its best to take inspiration from the rest of your outfit, for example if you want a minimal understated look we would go for all one colour – silver, for example. Whereas if you’d like to stand out from the crowd it’s best to mix things up with silver, gold and rose gold. If you’re choosing two colour combinations try and keep the shorter and longest necklace the same colour and use the middle chain to contrast.
